Office of the Principal
Ashley Baker, M.Ed.
Principal, Rice Challenge Academy
My name is Ashley Baker and I am from the Richmond/Rosenberg/Fulshear area where my husband and I raised our 4 (now grown) children for the past 25 years. I graduated from Texas A&M with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration before beginning a career in Education. I taught English for 13 years at the Secondary level in Katy ISD, Houston ISD, and Lamar Consolidated ISD and served in various teacher leader roles including English Department Chair. I later earned my Master’s in Educational Administration from Lamar University and joined RCISD in 2021 where I worked as the Rice High School Assistant Principal for the past 3 years.
I am grateful and honored to be named Principal of Rice Challenge Academy (RCA) for the upcoming school year. As an RCISD high school, RCA has the unique role of partnering with the military based program, Texas Challenge Academy (TCA), to serve students from all over Texas enrolled in the TCA program. As the Principal of RCA, I believe students need every opportunity to become the best version of themselves and I am committed to helping them do just that. The mindset I am promoting with students, staff, and families is simple. We are here everyday doing one thing: Getting Better. Everyday. On purpose.
I look forward to serving Rice Challenge Academy!!!
